Welcome!
I am Sara Collina, Founder of Blueberry Hill Strategies (BHS), which was founded to help advocacy organizations thrive.
I provide a range of services including program development and evaluation, social science research, healthcare curriculum design and meeting facilitation. I can transform complex ideas into compelling messages and have extensive experience combining expertise to spark innovation. Most of all, I am a passionate teacher, and I believe that most of us dramatically underestimate our ability to learn. I love to facilitate learning in all its forms.
Since founding BHS in 2013, the need for effective advocacy has continued to grow, and the demand for our services has also grown. To ensure every client has everything they need to make each project a success, I collaborate with a small group of professionals whose work I deeply respect. This allows me to provide carefully tailored services that ensures projects are completed both successfully and efficiently. I remain personally involved in every project.
I currently focus on two areas:
Gender Policy
I help educators and others understand issues related to gender and race inequality, with a particular focus on sex and gender identity in educational settings, reproductive rights and responsibilities, and sexual harassment. I conduct law and public policy educational programs for advocacy groups, and am a member of the Georgetown Women and Gender Studies Program, where I teach both Gender and the Law and Introduction to Gender Studies to undergraduates. I also teach a graduate level course in the George Washington Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department.
Patient Engagement in Healthcare Research
I empower health care advocates and other stakeholders to effectively participate in all aspects of medical research.
I help organizations improve the quality of healthcare research by facilitating innovative collaborations among health care providers, researchers, and patient advocacy communities. Focus areas include comparative effectiveness research, health literacy, and women's health.
